Amphastar Pharmaceuticals, Inc., established in 1996, is a specialty and generic pharmaceutical company focusing on injectable, inhalable, and other pharmaceutical products. Amphastar’s state-of-the-art, aseptic, cGMP compliant facilities develop, manufacture, and market innovative proprietary and generic products using new technologies and delivery systems.

1998 - Amphastar expanded its products and services with the acquisition of International Medication Systems, Limited (IMS). IMS is an internationally licensed manufacturer of sterile injectable pharmaceuticals supplying worldwide markets. These sterile injectables are used with a wide variety of IMS delivery systems, including prefilled syringes and vials.

1999 - Amphastar Laboratories, Inc., formerly the New Drug Research Center (NDRC) for the development of new proprietary drug products and delivery systems was established.

2003 - Amphastar expanded its products and services again with the acquisition of Armstrong Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Armstrong is a registered manufacturer of metered-dose inhalers and nasal spray products.

We currently manufacture and sell approximately 50 products and are continuing to develop a portfolio of generic and branded products that target large markets with high technical barriers to entry. We are capable of producing a broad range of dosage formulations. We have long standing relationships with all the major group purchasing organizations and drug wholesalers in the U.S. that deliver products to our end markets, which enables us to rapidly introduce new products and quickly establish significant market share.

Amphastar Pharmaceuticals, Inc., headquartered in Rancho Cucamonga, California has two manufacturing subsidiaries: International Medication Systems, Limited located in South El Monte, California and Armstrong Pharmaceuticals, Inc. with two facilities, in West Roxbury and Canton, Massachusetts.

Amphastar Pharmaceuticals, Inc., and its subsidiaries are all recognized names in the pharmaceutical industry, with years of experience bringing the finest quality drug products and devices to the consumer.
